For workers

Does it cost anything to use HopDesk as a worker?

No. Finding venues, checking in, revealing Wi-Fi and reserving a table are all free. You support the venue the usual way, by buying a coffee or a bite while you are there.

Do I have to book ahead?

Not usually. Most HopSpots are walk-in: just turn up and scan the code. Where a venue offers table reservations, you can hold a table for the hours you need, also free.

How do I check in?

Every HopSpot has a HopDesk QR code on the tables or the bar. Scan it with your phone camera, sign in once, and you are checked in.

How do I get the Wi-Fi?

Once you are checked in, the network name and password appear in the app, so you never have to interrupt the bar to ask.

For venues

What does HopDesk cost a venue?

One monthly subscription. Well, actually the cost of 4 coffees a week. We're keeping it as low as possible to encourage mass sign up and grow a HopSpot network.

How long does it take to set up?

Minutes. List your venue, let the description helper draft your words, print the QR signage with your own check-in code, and you are open for Hoppers.

Do I have to give away free Wi-Fi or tables?

You decide. You choose whether Wi-Fi is revealed to anyone checked in, and whether to offer table reservations at all. HopDesk fits how you already run the place.

Will it disrupt my normal trade?

HopDesk is designed for your quieter daytime hours and puts paying customers in seats that would otherwise be empty. You stay in full control of your space.

Looking to Invest?

Great! We've got so far with our own funds and efforts. Now we need a bit of money to help spread the HopDesk love all over the UK. If you have a few pennies to spare or know someone who might be interested, please do email us at hopdeskhere@gmail.com.

Privacy and general

What data does HopDesk collect?

For workers, your email and the venues you check into, so the service can work. Check-ins are stored as counts for the venue, never as a tracking trail or a location history. You can withdraw consent and delete your account at any time.

Is HopDesk available near me yet?

We are rolling out venue by venue, starting with a friends-and-family pilot. Join the community and we will tell you as HopSpots open near you.

Who is behind HopDesk?

HopDesk is built by HopDesk Ltd, a UK company, registered in England and Wales (company number 15063595). We keep data in the UK and build privacy-first.
